The Kingdom of Dracanie is an archipelago located in the North Sea, approximately 200 miles north of Britain and 200 miles west of Norway. Total landmass of Dracanie is 262,000 square miles. Two main islands form an inverted V (known to locals as The Dracanie Arrowhead). The water inside The Dracanie Arrowhead is known as the Dragon’s Sea, and it is occupied by a third large island.
The winters here are harsh, and the citizens of Dracanie have a perverse sense of pride in the weather extremes. An odd geographical phenomenon called the Windward Firn results when arctic winds blowing from west to east batter the westernmost Dracanie island causing deep snow, frigid temperatures, and a generally inhospitable winter. Ironically, this winter bombardment in the west causes an atmospheric dam, blocking arctic winds from reaching the central and eastern Dracanie islands. This explains why, even though at the same latitude, part of Dracanie can be under deep snow while another part can be experiencing sweater weather.
