The ROD is redirecting 1st SHAM from South America (currently in Venezuela) to west Africa (specifically the Democratic Republic of Congo) to assist with the Ebola outbreak there. SHAM personnel will initially not be treating Ebola patients directly due to the lack of protective equipment. Rather they will establish a forward operating base where medical supplies can be staged and that can accommodate ROD supply aircraft. The affected area is in the north-east of the DRC and in Uganda, so access from the sea will be extremely difficult.
Once protective equipment and appropriately trained personnel are on site, ROD personnel have the option of treating patients, or providing other humanitarian support in the affected area.
NCs humanitarian Aid Fleet is nearing Yer Bouti Now. The hospital ship and the Aid Vehicle transport will hold position outside Yer Bouti City’s Harbour. While the Ship carrying the NCs Red Crosses Bureaucrats and Administrative staff under escort by Blue Nationalist Navy ships will dock at Yer Bouti City. To assess the area and to determine how much aid supplies are needed for the population inside YBC. This will take a while to process the information needed.
